Step 2 - Select the learning style that suits your needs
Online via
No matter where you are located, mindmaths uses the latest video conferencing applications to meet, learn and stay in touch.
Many students like to meet each week, at a time to suit us both for an hour. Others prefer lessons ‘ad hoc’ as their need arises.
I work in an interactive way, using a camera and whiteboards to share problems. I like to see how students set out their methods, so ask for this to be done through their camera or by sending me a pdf/picture of their work from time to time, although do not need to see their personal image if they prefer not.
I am experienced in working with young people who find communication difficult and those with anxiety, often heightened after our experiences with Covid during the last years, including students who are not in school and are being home tutored.
Face to face
Students who choose to have face-to-face tuition will tend to find that sessions take place in their own home, but lessons can be arranged at different locations to suit your needs.
Mindmaths is happy to travel to a student’s home, up to a 10 miles radius from GL11. A small charge will be added to cover our travel expenses.
Many students find face to face a helpful way to work, but mindmaths are also happy to arrange a mixture of face to face and online lessons, as appropriate by the session.
Group learning
Whether it's in pairs or in small groups, mindmaths are able to group according to all needs and ability levels.
Group learning can be in a pair or in a small group and can also be done face to face or online. Mindmaths can group students according to their needs and the course which they are studying.
Alternatively, you may have a friend who you would like to work with, this often works well as you can ‘bounce ideas’ off each other whilst studying the same maths course.
